The Woodford House Old Girls’ Association warmly invites Old Girls and guests to attend the presentation of The Tempus Award to Miranda Smith at Woodford House followed by afternoon tea. The event will include an afternoon tea and brief AGM for the Woodford House Old Girls’ Association.
The Tempus Award is presented to an Old Girl for Outstanding Achievement in her field. The criteria are first, a sustained contribution by an Old Girl to a chosen field or career; secondly, that the Old Girl has had external recognition from her peers and the wider community of New Zealand; and thirdly, that the Old Girl has maintained an interest in, and or, given back to Woodford House in some way. Previous recipients of the award are Dame Kate Harcourt, Tiny White, Jane Cunliffe, Vi Cottrell and Avenal McKinnon.
The 2019 recipient of the Tempus Award, Miranda Smith, is the Managing Director of Miranda Smith Homecare – the largest private homecare agency in New Zealand, which was established in 1999 when Smith was just 23 years old. We look forward to hearing more about Miranda’s journey.
