The bus was filled with anticipation as the Year 9 girls departed for Napier on Monday 19 February for camp. Based around Pandora Pond, the camp had a local focus and was aimed at developing cohesion between the Year Level as many new girls had joined Woodford House.
The girls were split into two groups with one group heading off to go kayaking in the harbour while the other group were challenged with some fun games and archery. A much needed lunch was on the agenda after a morning jammed packed with activity. The two groups changed over and headed into the afternoon for some more fun.
After a long day, the girls travelled to Kennedy Park for an overnight stay. There was time for a quick swim in the heated pools before a dinner of delicious fish and chips or hotdogs. The girls enjoyed a relaxing evening at Kennedy Park with the jumping pillow which was the highlight for most.
After breakfast the following day, the girls cleaned their cabins and it was back on the bus to Pandora Pond for team building activities and an adventure race.
The camp was a great success and offered girls the opportunity to enjoy challenging activities, which focused on team work and encouragement.
