STAR and Gateway Gain Valuable Experience

Gateway students are nearing the end of their work placements.

  • Meg Batey is a DJ star at Radio Kidnappers. Look for information in HB Today towards the end of August and listen for Meghan’s Radio Tunes on Saturdays at 5.30 pm.
  • Natasha Ricketts has been doing a great job at Café Ujazi
  • Charlotte Sandbrook has been working hard at Hastings Educare.

Congratulations to the girls for their hard work and thanks to the community for providing them with opportunities to gain valuable experience. All will have gained at least 20 credits through this programme which will go towards Level 3 NCEA. Fantastic effort!

STAR students are still working on their various papers. It is satisfying to see them achieving in areas outside the school curriculum which most will continue in their future pathways of nursing, fitness training, tourism and early childhood care. They are my stars! I look forward to providing interesting opportunities for STAR students in 2016.
