Lucy Roberts was awarded her Centre Badge and Georgia Trent and Pieta Parvin have been awarded the Netball New Zealand Zone Badge for umpiring. This involved Georgia and Pieta passing a theory exam as well as a practical assessment. This is a fantastic achievement as not many umpires achieve this award at such a young age. Georgia was also third ranked umpire in the finals round for the Hawke’s Bay Netball Premier Woman’s Club competition and Pieta was appointed to umpire the Hawke’s Bay Netball Super 12 Secondary School Plate final.
Congratulations to all girls who competed at Tournament Week.
Netball finished 7th in the Lower NISS Netball B Grade Tournament. Well done to Ruby Hansen and Maddy Mickleson who were named in the B Grade Tournament Team.

Junior Pentangular – Nga Tawa
Woodford House’s Year 9 and 10 Hockey, Football and Junior Premier Netball team travelled to Nga Tawa for the annual Junior Pentangular tournament on 25 and 26 July. All three teams played extremely well over two tough days. Each team finished second in their respective sport and Woodford House were the overall winners of the tournament.
We had perfect weather and great camaraderie at the Quadrangular Tournament, which was hosted by Woodford House in August. The overall winners were St Matthew’s Collegiate who also won the Football. Woodford House won the Netball and Iona College won the Hockey.
Tessa Burns continues to excel in orienteering. During the July holidays Tessa competed at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Orienteering Championships winning the Intermediate girls long course. Tessa was also a member of a composite team that won the senior girls relay.
