Rowing Success

In early February, three Woodford House girls travelled to Lake Ruataniwha on the South Island to compete for Hawke’s Bay at the New Zealand Rowing Nationals. This was an excellent opportunity to race against clubs from all around New Zealand including many University crews.

Year 12 student Grace May placed third in both the Women’s Club Coxless Skulls and the Under 19 Double Skull B Finals, respectively. Francesca Arlidge and Lucy Roberts competed in the Women’s Club Eight that came sixth in the A Final.

A special mention to Old Girl, Jessica Norris, who won gold in the Women’s Club Single Skull. An incredible achievement to cap off an amazing rowing season, which earned her a full scholarship to Washington State University in America, worth $50,000 per year.
