On Sunday 4 March, the combined Evita cast of 70 Woodford House and Lindisfarne College students gathered together for their first rehearsal. With the first performance taking place on Wednesday 20 June, this talented group were keen to get to know each other and start learning the 28 songs included in this production.
Director Mrs Kathy Atkin introduced the powerful life story of Argentina’s controversial First Lady, Eva Peron, who escaped her dirt-poor existence for the bright lights of Buenos Aires at just 15 years old.
Musical Director Ms Tess Tobin warmed up voices with group vocal exercises. The combination of soprano, alto, tenor and bass voices signalled that we had truly begun the process of creating a spectacular production together.
Since then, the cast have been rehearsing three times a week and are enjoying the passion of Latin music and the life story of Eva, which will be played by Communications Prefect, Bella Christie.
Performances will be from 20-24 June at The Lowe Family Performing Arts Centre, Lindisfarne College.
