On Sunday 2 and Monday 3 August, twenty-eight girls from Woodford House took part in the Hawke’s Bay Regionals of Dance NZ Made.
Dance NZ Made is an interschool dance competition run by professional dancer Dean McKerras, celebrating and embracing the strength, diversity and passion of dance in New Zealand. This annual competition travels around New Zealand theatres, running full day workshops for students and giving them an immersive experience in competitive dance on the stage.
The girls had a wonderful time, working with professional dancers, learning new skills and techniques and performing their own group and individual dances in front of a live audience in a professional environment. All group dances performed were choreographed by our senior girls; Giorgia Hickey, Annabelle Fenn and Rebekka Schulze. All solo and duet dances were choreographed by the students themselves.
