Commerce Teacher

Full-time, fixed term (12 months)

About us

Woodford House, a leading special character, state-integrated, boarding and day school for Year 7 – 13 girls, situated in Hawke’s Bay is seeking to appoint a talented and motivated fixed term, full-time teacher of Commerce to join our high achieving Commerce Faculty for 2024.

About the role

This role would suit a beginner or experienced teacher to deliver Commerce classes across all year levels, particularly Accounting and Economics in the senior school. The students at Woodford House are dedicated, ready learners. This position is fixed term to cover a period of parental leave, and would ideally commence Term 1, 2024. 

About you 

  • Registration with the Teaching Council of New Zealand, or ability to obtain it,
  • A relevant teaching or other qualification,
  • Some teaching experience is desirable, specifically Economics/Business to senior level, but beginning teachers considered,
  • The ability to promote exceptional education in a blended learning environment,
  • A willingness to move with the times and work to meet our future-focused learning goals,
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills, and
  • A commitment to our school’s special character.

Teacher Aide

Part-time, fixed term (2024 school year)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Teacher Aide to join our team for the 2024 school year to work in our Junior School, Year 7 to Year 10. The position is 32 hours per week, 8am to 3.15pm, including a 1 hour unpaid break, Monday to Friday, term-time only.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with students (in a one-to-one situation or in small groups) with behavioral or learning differences within or alongside the class as required
  • Support the classroom teacher
  • Work with the student and other students to boost learning, independence and social skills
  • Liaise with the classroom teacher to ensure the best support is provided to the targeted student(s)
  • Other reasonably requested duties as required.

 

About you

  • Have previous experience working in Intermediate or Secondary schools
  • Be organised and use initiative
  • Be empathic, and caring
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have an interest in supporting students to trial new Assistive Technology, where appropriate.
