Welcome to the new Intermediate girls

Hayley Dustin 2010

Ms Hayley Dustin, HoD Intermediate

The Intermediate department has started 2015 with a buzz of excitement and enthusiasm.

The Mentors and curriculum teachers are pleased with how well the girls are settling in. All new girls have been made to feel welcome by their ‘Big Sisters’ (Year 13 support person), their ‘Mabels’ (Year 8 support buddy), staff and the whole school in general.

The girls are beginning to recognise how important the ‘managing self’ key competency is at the Intermediate level of a busy secondary school. Daily use of diaries and Woodbook is recommended as aides to support them in becoming more effective independent learners.

Please look out for feedback on your daughter’s start of year PAT testing. This should reach you in early March and will report on results of initial standardised testing. It will also give you a snapshot of how well your daughter is beginning to manage routines, including prep.

We look forward to seeing parents and caregivers this Friday, 20 February at 5pm in H121 (Ms McKenna’s room), for our annual Year 7/8 overview of the year ahead.
