The ‘Alice in Wonderland’ theme for this year’s Visual and Performing Arts Cocktail Party created a colourful and lively evening as ‘characters’ from the book interacted with guests.
Up Close welcomed people with music, visual arts adorned the Hall and waitresses dressed as playing cards offered canapés, which reflected the theme.
Two new awards were presented this year. The Carpenter Cup for services to Drama was presented by Mrs Jo Carpenter to acknowledge contribution in this field. The inaugural winners were Year 12 students Michaela-Rose Tripp and Laura Matthews.
The Tobin Trophy was presented by Head of Music, Ms Tess Tobin, for the Adjudicators Choice from House music events. The first winner of this award was Mizuki Isaka for her moving singing performance in the Kennedy Cup. Mizuki has attended Woodford this year from her school in Tokyo where she returns at the end of the year.
The other awards will be printed in this year’s Chronicle.
