Principal’s News – June

Julie Peterson 2015

How do we plan for a future that is largely unknown? The answer lies in understanding our clear moral purpose as a school based in the Christian faith educating young women to live and lead extraordinary lives.

We are currently preparing for a new round of strategic planning. We are not unlike most institutions and organisations also trying to plan for a future no one can describe nor predict. However, although the world around us continues to change rapidly, our guiding principles remain as sound as ever before; “hand, body and brain must be developed together” (Mabel Annie Hodge).

I feel tremendously confident about the future, more specifically, the future of Woodford House. I feel this way because I get to spend my day with inspiring young women and talented, outstanding staff in a beautiful natural environment. Mind, body and spirit are enriched every day because of that.

As a special character school, our foundation lies on strong Christian values, ethos and heritage. Our enviable reputation derives from a determined vision to provide the very best girl-centric teaching and learning opportunities. Vision not only takes faith but also calculated risk underpinned by critical, reflective and strategic thinking.

At Woodford we must continue to focus on developing and equipping young women to be good citizens imbued with a deep sense of purpose and love for humanity. The work we do today will ensure our girls are given the tools, the skills and the inspiration they need to confidently step forward into their future, whatever it might bring.

Mrs Julie Peterson, Principal
