Founders’ Walkway

The Founders’ Walkway Project

The Founders’ Walkway is an exciting project aimed at enhancing the overall Woodford House experience. The proposed walkway will take people on a picturesque journey from the moment they enter our gates, through the grounds’ flora and fauna, and up to the School.

The Founders’ Walkway will honour our Founders and rich history as part of next year’s 125th Anniversary celebrations. In addition to celebrating this significant milestone, the walkway will serve several other purposes:

  • An Educational Outdoor Classroom where students can learn about their environment, sustainability and ecological restoration.
  • A safe and pleasant avenue for students to walk up to the School from the front gate.
  • A way of promoting health and wellbeing as the walkway will encompass a fitness trail.

The Founders’ Walkway is an ambitious project that requires the support of our community. If you are interested in supporting this project, please visit our Give to the Founders’ Walkway page or email: foundation@woodford.school.nz

The Concepts

A number of artist impressions have been created by Ms Diane Morris, TiC Design, Photography & DVC (Graphics), in order to help conceptualise some of the ideas for the Founder’s Walkway. This page will be updated as the planning process continues and the walkway design takes shape.

A Gift That Keeps Giving

Support the Founders’ Walkway by purchasing your own tree, garden bench or sculpture, which will be planted or installed along the memorial pathway and signposted with a plaque in your name.

Each gift represents a unique way to give back to the community, whether it’s providing students with natural learning resources, creating shade and comfort as people enjoy the flora and fauna, or offering moments of inspiration and reflection, there are benefits for everyone.

Naming Rights

Woodford House has limited opportunities for members of its community to secure naming rights to features of the Founders’ Walkway. This is an exciting opportunity to leave a legacy at Woodford House.

If you are interested in discussing naming rights, please contact Business and Operations Manager Mr Ted Jones: ted.jones@woodford.school.nz or 06 873 0706.
