Celebrating 125 Years of History

Members of the Woodford House community are warmly invited to a weekend of celebrations.

Programme of Events

Friday 22 February 2019 – Celebration March and The Cocktail Party 

Reconnect with friends during a beautiful cocktail evening at Woodford House.

  • 1:30pm: Celebration March to Havelock North Village
    – Woodford House students and staff will march from the School to St Luke’s Anglican Church, Havelock North, via Joll Road. Local businesses and residents are welcome to view and cheer the march through the Havelock North village.
  • 2pm: 125th Anniversary Cake Cutting Ceremony (St Luke’s Anglican Church)
    – Students and staff will assemble on the lawns of St Luke’s for an official cake cutting ceremony. Sandra Hazlehurst, Mayor of Hastings, will make an official congratulatory announcement on behalf of the local community. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
  • 1:30pm – 2:30pm: Event Registration at St Luke’s Anglican Church
    – The event registration desk will be open at St Luke’s Anglican Church for those wishing to register early.
  • 4pm – 7pm: Event Registration at Woodford House
  • 4pm – 7pm:
    – Woodford House merchandise and Foundation promotion stands open
    – Exhibition of Archival displays
  • 5pm: Formalities and Official Welcome
  • 5.30pm – 8pm: Cocktail Party (Registered attendees only)

Saturday 23 February 2019 – ANZ Gala Lunch, Tauroa House Tours, Woodford House School Tours, and 125th Anniversary events

Woodford House will be bustling with excitement throughout the day as a range of events are on offer as part of our 125th anniversary celebrations.
The ANZ Gala Lunch, catered by Orton’s, will commence at Woodford House from noon on Saturday. Before or after meeting friends for lunch, take a trip down memory lane by visiting the archival exhibition, catching a screening of the 125th Anniversary documentary, posing for your decade photo and taking a guided tour through the stunning grounds of Woodford House.
Also, there is a special opportunity to enjoy a tour of Tauroa House, one of the School’s original Founders’ houses in Havelock North.

  • 9am – 12pm: Event Registration at Woodford House
  • 9am, 10.30am, 3pm: Guided tours of Woodford House (Self-guided tours will be available from 9am – 4pm)
  • 9am – 4pm:
    – Woodford House merchandise and Foundation promotion stands open
    – Exhibition of Archival displays
    – Screenings of Woodford House documentary
  • 9:45am – 12pm: Old Girl decade photographs (decade at school is based on the year you were in Year 9 (3rd form))
    – 2000-2018:  9:45am

    – 1980-1989:  10:20am
    – 1970-1979:  10:40am
    – 1960-1969:  11:00am
    – 1950-1959:  11:20am

  • 12pm: Pre-lunch drinks
  • 12:30 – 3pm: ANZ Gala Lunch at Woodford House, catered by Orton’s.

Sunday 24 February 2019 – Chapel Services

The Chapel of St Francis of Assisi lies physically and spiritually at the heart of the School and has always been integral to school life. On Sunday, we welcome the Woodford House community to a special Chapel service followed by Sticky, a much loved Woodford House tradition. The School will host two Chapel services and for seating purposes, please indicate what Chapel service you would like to attend when completing the registration form.

  • 9.15am: Chapel service
  • 10.30am: Chapel service (This service is now full)
  • 9.30am – 12pm: Sticky (morning tea)
